XP Home Security 2011 Virus Removal

Author: XP Home Security 2011 is a rogue antivirus program that displays a fake alert and false security reports. This spayware will be installed on your system without your permission through the use of Trojans when you visit some websites or when click on a link. It configures itself to start when you turn on the computer. The scan and security report is not true. Do Not believe the scan and don’t buy this software.
XP Home Security 2011 doesn’t allow you to run any program and will terminate it and displays that it is infected with a Worm or Trojan. There is nothing wrong with the program, but XP Home Security 2011 is controlling this program just to push you to buy this fake anti-virus.

- Restart the computer and go to the safe mode with Networking. If you don’t know how to use the safe mode; Turn off the PC, turn on the PC and immediately click F8 on the keyboard “you have to do it very quickly” then select safe mode with Networking.
- Log in to your account and quickly create a new account. To create new account, go to control panel then select users account. The account should be Administrator, you can name it anything.
- Log off then log on to the new account you have created. Open internet explorer or fire fox and download Combofix save it to your desktop and rename it to Iexplorere.com. Then run Combofix and follow the instructions. The system may restarted many times. Make sure your operating system is 32bit Not 64bit. Combofix won’t run on 64bit platform.
- After Combofix finish, try to open any application, if a pop up windows ask you to choose a program to open it with, in this case re-run Combofix again.
- Download CCleaner, save it then run it. Do temporary files clean up.

This does not work. The virus has disabled IE.
You have to create a new account in the safe mode. Also, check if the virus use proxy. To do that open internet explorer, click Tools, internet options, click on connections, then click Lan setting, remove any check mark under proxy server.
I have successfully loaded ComboFix into a new user acct and am working out of safe mode with networking…I have run combofix about 15 times and have just checked the regular login and all the programs still open with “what program do you want to use..etc”. After every run of ComboFix I also run CCleaner and each time there are new files that need to be eliminated (mostly temporary internet files). Am I on the right track? How many times do I need to keep doing this, or is my computer fried…
You only need to run ComboFix one time. If you still get open with message, run Combofix in the normal mode. If it doesn’t work, then do system restore to date before you got the virus.
