3 simple ways could make your computer or laptop fast and smooth. First of all, we need to understand why the computer becomes slow, day by day, month by month, and year by year. When you buy a new computer, you feel very well because it’s fast and smooth, but after couple months you will notice that the PC runs slower than before or may be freezes when you run some applications or programs. Do not worry, this is normal and you could fix this problem by your self.

The best way to resolve this issue by doing on-going computer maintenance by your self or you can hire a computer repair shop in your area. Why you spend $100 or even more for something you can do it by your self?

The first way: Check your PC if it has some viruses or spyware. Viruses and spyware are the main reason to slow down the computer. You need in this case to have an Antivirus and do regular updates. Do a full scan once in a week and quick scan everyday. If the Antivirus found some viruses or spyware, just delete them, but in some cases the Antivirus couldn’t remove a nasty Virus or Trojan, in this case you need to hire a professional Virus removal company or go to a computer repair shop in your area.

The second way: Delete and clean up all temporary files from Windows. Temporary files left behind programs or internet pages make your computer slow and may expose your privacy to the hackers. There are free software could help you to clean up your system such as CCleaner, you can download it for free.

The third way: Check your memory or RAM capacity. If you run Windows XP, I prefer to have at least 1GB RAM. Windows Vista and Windows 7 2GB RAM. Right click computer or my computer icon then select properties, read how much memory installed on the system. You can upgrade the memory by your self or hire a computer repair technician to do this job for you.

A2Z PC Computer Repair Toronto is one of Toronto’s best computer, PC and laptop repair companies. A2Z PC Repair provides computer repairs for home users and business people. No matter what part of the GTA you are in: Mississauga, Etobicoke, Scarborough, North York, Brampton Richmond Hill, Markham and of course all of Toronto you can depend on A2Z PC.

One of the primary responsibilities of PC technician is to manage hard disks; it entails installing disks into the computer system and configuring the system to recognize the newly added disks. You will discover the skills that you need for installing, configuring the system to recognize the newly added disks. We introduce you to a new world of terminology related to hard disk installation and configuration, along with other types of storage like CD-ROM and DVD. We also make sure that you understand the difference between IDE, SCSI and Serial ATA (SATA) hard drives. Before discussing the installation and configuration of IDE and SATA drives, it is important to cover some basic terminology surrounding hard drives.

Platters: A platter is a physical object inside the hard drive that is responsible for storing the data. A platter is similar to a record on an old record player, the main difference being that a hard disk has many platters, while a record player holds only one record at a time.

Tracks: Just as there are grooves, or tracks, on a music record, there are also tracks on each platter. These trackes are evenly spaced across the platter’s surface.

Sectores: The platter is divided into pie-shaped slices, called sectors, Now the confusing thing about sectors is that where a track intersects with a sector creates sectorblocks, also known as sectores! Each sector is 512 bytes in size.

Installing IDE – SATA hard drive:
We will give you an idea how to install an IDE or SATA hard drive. Because all hard drives are different. We present only the most popular solutions for installing hard drives.
First, you want to open up the casing of the computer and find an empty bay to mount the new hard disk into. if you are removing the old hard drive, you will be able to use the same bay. However, if you are adding a hard drive, you have to find an empty bay and mount the drive in place. Second, you slide the drive in the bay so that the power connector and ribbon cable connector are facing the motherboard. After you have mounted the drive in place, as a third step, connect the IDE connector on the motherboard to the IDE connector on the hard disk with a 40-wire IDE ribbon cable and then connect a power connector to the drive. The question is: How do you know which pin is pin 1? Hopefully, the manufacturer has indicated Pin 1 by placing a small (1) near it. if you look at the connector on the hard drive and on the motherboard, you may see a small (1) on one end of the connector. That’s where you need to place a (40) by Pin 40 instead of displaying where Pin 1 is, so watch for that as well. After you have connected the IDE ribbon cable, you want to give the hard disk power from the power supply so that you can run the motor in the drive.

Hard drive crashed or failed: The hard drive could fail at any time even if it a brand new one. Sometimes, the computer freezes or crashes at least one time a day. This crash could be the first sign that the hard drive will be failed soon. In this case, the first thing to do is “data back up“. the second sign, when Windows takes long time to load more than usual. The third sign, when you get the blue screen of death with error code shows on the screen. The blue screen of death is related to hard drive failure, memory, video card, motherboard or software problem.

While there are so many reasons your computer can malfunction, many times it is not the hardware, but the operating system within the machine that is causing the problem. When the operating system becomes damaged, it can cause any number of problems for anyone who is operating Windows:

Viruses: A virus can be the biggest threat to any computer and no one is immune to them. They are extremely powerful and have been known to bring down entire networks. Once the viruses infect your computer, they are very hard to remove.

Damaged Windows Registry: When your registry becomes damaged, your computer may become unbootable and you may receive several error messages. This occurs when programs are terminated without notice or when programs with access to the registry do not cleanly remove items store in the registry. This can also be caused by a Virus or Malware.

Spyware and Malware: These can cause damage to programs on your computer as well as endanger your personal information. When removed incorrectly, it can cause your entire system to stop functioning properly and even damage the BIOS in your motherboard.

Blue Screens of Death: This is an error screen displayed when your operating system encounters a major system error. They can be caused by poorly written device drivers, faulty memory, corrupt registry files, incompatible DLLs, Video card and Motherboard. If you are not tech-savvy, it can take hours and even days to troubleshoot and locate the problem when you receive the Blue Screen of Death.

So what do you do when you run into one of these problems? Your best bet is to call Computer repair Toronto Now.
